COVID-19 UPDATE Mackenzie Hall, Brockweir

28th August 2020

The Hall will be open for small group bookings from the 1st September. In order to do so safely we would ask hirers to note the following requirements, which the Hall is obliged to impose until we are informed otherwise:

Note: For the time being, starting on the 1st of October, due to the extra expense of cleaning after every booking, there will be a surcharge of £5.00 per daily booking, irrespective of the length of the booking.

The hirers responsibilities

  • Small groups only.

  • You will not be able to use the kitchen, please bring your own refreshments. The exception to this is if you need to turn the heating on, in which case the group organiser may unlock and enter and wipe down everything they touch and lock the door behind them.

  • Hirer is responsible for ensuring social distancing at all times.

  • We would prefer that masks are worn, but this is at the hirers discretion.

  • You must take all rubbish away or leave it in the outside black bins.

  • You must notify us in advance how many chairs and tables you will require and all chairs and tables must be left out after use so they can be cleaned.

  • Hirers must take contact details of everyone attending their classes and notify the committee if a user should develop symptoms of COVID-19 within 7 days of using the hall, so that other users of the Hall can be notified and it can be deep cleaned.

  • No kitchen, corridor toilets or committee rooms to be used, only the main Hall and the lobby toilets may be used (apart from the disabled toilet if essential). This requirement may be relaxed in the future depending on the ongoing situation.

  • The stage curtains must be kept drawn shut and not touched, blinds to be left rolled up unless by prior arrangement.

  • Hirer must complete their own risk assessment before commencing any activities.

The Halls responsibilities.

  • The Hall has now been deep cleaned to a high standard.

  • There will be only one activity per day and the hall will be thoroughly cleaned between all activities.

  • We will provide hand sanitisers and paper towels.
